“I struggled getting motivated in 2020, with comfort eating taking over and settling into bad habits.

Enter Harriet, November 2020. That moment has been a game changer for me. It has been two months since we started this new journey and I cannot begin to explain how empowering it has been for me. Harriet taught me to first above all, be kind to myself. Simple right, everyone says it…but no. The delivery of this message hit home properly for once. She has helped me understand the value of nourishing my body and giving it what it needs and sometimes wants whilst maintaining control.

For once, I do not feel restricted with a diet of eating nothing and exercising to the point of exhaustion. Instead, I now focus on what I can feed myself to make my body and soul happy to keep myself healthy and strong.

Harriet is genuinely interested in helping get strong both mentally and physically and doesn’t shy away from getting involved in the sessions - from drop squats to planks! The sessions we have done have been catered to my needs, taking into account what I don’t like, pre-existing injuries and even the fact that I like a cheeky takeaway now and again.

“When I heard about Harriet’s personal training services and the fact that I could do my sessions over zoom, I was hesitant. I had never had a personal trainer before, never gone to a gym and certainly never worked out on video with anyone! A friend of mine was a client of Harriet’s and had seen great results and I really wanted that for myself so I took a chance and signed up for 4 weekly sessions. I am now entering my 6th month with Harriet and the results I’ve seen have been amazing! I’ve dropped 6kg and have hit my goal weight.

Harriet worked with me to reprogram my brain to stop wanting to snack at night, to think about the food choices I was making to help me make healthier choices. That coupled with the workouts she provides and does with you, have put me on the pathway to healthy living. What I like about her approach is she recognizes that we can’t fully deprive ourselves of treats and days off. Everything in moderation!

The workouts are great and tailored to you. She works with the equipment you have, targets your full body and for me, even rejigged my workouts when I had some shoulder pain.

She’s more than a one hour session each week. She’s your cheerleader, she’s there if you have a question or need advice. She challenges you, pushes you and is a really great person to be able to spend time talking to over and above the fitness aspect.

“Whether you’ve never had a personal trainer before, or you’ve had a conveyor belt of trainers for years, I guarantee that working with Harriet will be different to anything you’ve experienced before. Personally I had never had a PT, and started working with Harriet remotely during the first lockdown. I always thought the difference between a gym membership and a PT was that I would be paying someone to teach me something I could find on YouTube. How wrong I was!

ENTHUSIASM - Firstly, her enthusiasm is unmatched and infectious. She loves what she does and she will make you love it too. Enthusiasm is important; it’s the motivation you carry with you all week. It will get you out of bed at early o’clock and to not be (too) mad about it. And it will help you do your fourth workout of the week even though your bones ache.

BALANCE - Secondly, she has an innate sense of balance when it comes to the push and pull of training. She knows when to push you harder, and she knows when you need a slightly easier time. You can have confidence that whether you’re injured, stressed or just hungover, if you make the effort to show up she will adjust your wokrout to make it so you still get loads out of your session, but mostly you will be pushed harder!

CREATIVITY - Her creativity in making exercise a positive and exciting part of your life is super impressive. From making your pathetic excuse for home equipment into ‘everything you need’ to coming up with new and challenging workout routines, you definitely will never be bored.

NUTRITION - You will be guided through your nutrition too, which is obviously a majorly neglected part of most people’s fitness journey. However, she is not restrictive or there to shame you. She teaches you the tools you need to see how you can tweak (or overhaul!) your nourishment, and at the same time she also understands the nutritional value of Prosecco (important).

KNOWLEDGE - Finally, not only is she incredibly knowledgeable in her field, but she is always pushing herself to be better for her clients. She is always researching and reading and usees her learnings to elevate your training. You can be sure that Harriet will put as much hard work and energy into researching, designing and teaching you your workouts as you will put in physically to complete them.
